ANIMAGE - The 1st International Film Animation Festival of Pernambuco emerges as a complement to the recent and intense local production, which has been placing Recife among the most important animation centers of the country. At the same time, it creates an intersection among local, national and international producers with competitive and non competitive screenings of films produced in Brazil and abroad.

Accomplished by Rec Beat Artistic Productions and Co-done by FUNDAJ in execution of workshops, with the sponsorship of Fundarpe, Fundaj, co-sponsorship The Culture Foundation of the City of Recife and support AESO, Animage will promote the free screening of films in the format of short films and feature films for children and adults in the movie theater of the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation (Fundaj) and in the Sítio da Trindade. By enabling a dialogue among local, national and international productions, the Festival´s aim is to disseminate the film animation culture through the metropolitan region of Recife and contribute to the conceptual and technical maturity of the local producers.

Aside from the awards destined to the competitive screenings in the short film for children, short film and feature film categories, the Festival intends to promote and strengthen the local production with the promotion of six free specialized training workshops: Experimental Animation, Animation Toon Boom, 3D Animation, Stop Motion, Game Introduction and Traditional Animation for Adults and Teenagers.

Our first mission, a mix of entertainment and promotion to local production promoted by Animage also consolidates Pernambuco in the route of big cultural events in the audiovisual area and proposes to inject a permanent and mature discussion about Animation Films in the local market, object of amusement to people of all ages.
