THE ANIMAGE - International Film and Animation Festival of Pernambuco, in its second edition, reinforces its purpose of enhancement to the recent and intense local production, which highlights Recife as one of the most important animation poles in the country. At the same time it creates an intersection between international, national and local producers with competitive and non-competitive exhibitions of films produced in Brazil and abroad.

Promoted by Rec-Beat Produções Artísticas, ANIMAGE will offer free exhibitions of short and full feature films, aimed at adult and children audiences, at the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation (Fundaj) theater. By enabling a dialogue between international, national and local producers, the Festival intends to disseminate the culture of animation movies in the Recife Metropolitan Region and contribute to the conceptual and technical maturity of local producers.

Beyond giving prizes for the competitive exhibition in the categories of short film, children´s short film, full feature film, animation music video and advertising animation film, the Festival intends to harness and strengthen the local production with the offering of free specialized training workshops.

The combination of entertainment and support to the local production promoted by ANIMAGE adds Pernambuco to the path of major cultural events in the Animation Cinema field and launches in the local market a permanent debate on this activity, something which is fascinating for audiences of all ages.
